Family and Friends,

I am deeply saddened by the loss of Paul. He was a humble, loving and high spirited person. My mother, Janice Carlino, and Paul taught together for years. It just so happened to be the same day I lost my Mother, May 17th. Nothing will make this easier other than time. Try to remember all the positive times we've all had with Paul. May your family seek comfort and peace that we know Paul has found in Heaven. God bless all of you.

I consider myself so blessed to call Paul a friend. We served on the PSEA Leadership Development Committee together for many years. His smile and his kind words, his jokes and his caring manner, and his genuine love for others will be missed by so many. Praying for comfort for his family, friends, and students in this difficult time.

My heart is deeply saddened by the loss of Paul. I had the honor of serving with him on the PSEA Leadership Developed Committee. He cared for so many, whether it was a smile, a hug, words of encouragement, or asking about your family. He always seemed to know the right thing to do or say.

His eyes would light up when he talked about Maddy, especially her talents and achievements on the softball field.

Our committee will feel his loss for years to come, and his memory will continue on with each of us.

His family is in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

RIP Mr Serbak.. you were an amazing teacher and I am so sad you are gone. You had so much to offer our youngsters.. My daughters are now grown and raising families of their own but we still occasionally talk about their favorite grade school teacher from Wilkins Primary.

When I saw this posted this morning I was dismayed. I only knew Paul a short time, while I was with the Woodland Hills School District. He fought hard for all of the teachers under his care as Union President and he would call me personally with any updates. I greatly appreciated his care that he gave us and he was a phenomenal teacher. Thoughts go out to his family and friends, I'm sure you will miss him greatly.

Role model. Public servant. Leader. Teacher. Father. Coach. Paul performed and thrived in all of these roles--and probably others--throughout his life. Paul & Sissy and Family: Congratulations on raising such a great man who meant so much to so many people.

I first met Paul, with his dynamic personality and bright smile, when he began his teaching career at Wilkins Primary. He cared deeply for his students and coworkers. I will dearly miss him.

Paul was much more than a teacher to me. He was a good friend and someone I could confide in. Paul was the Association President and Vice President and I am the Superintendent. One would think that we would be on 'opposite sides' and always jousting with one another. But it was never that way. We worked together and very often we laughed and got upset together. He represented his fellow teachers in an extraordinary way. I got to know him better than I will ever get the chance to know most of the people who work here at Woodland Hills and I can say that he was among the most genuine, compassionate, caring and sometimes even stubborn (In the good way!) people I have ever met and worked with. He was, above all, a great teacher and a great Wolverine. I miss him terribly and still cannot force myself to accept that he is not with us. But then again, in a way, he still is and will continue to be. My condolences to Paul's wife and family from his Woodland Hills family. He was a loved man and that is uncommon in our time.

I was lucky enough to be roommates with Paul at the PSEA Gettysburg workshops for the last two summers. He was a great friend who I came to love like a brother. Even more than that he was a Marine who fought for all of us and he was a GREAT man
